AN ART NOUVEAU GILT METAL AND ONYX THREE PIECE CLOCK GARNITURE, “VANDEGUESE,” CHARLES RUCHOT (French 1872-1932), SCULPTOR, JAPY FRERES, CLOCKWORKS, PARIS, 1890-1900, the female grape harvester holds proudly her bunch of grapes and a woven basket at her hip, she stands barefoot on a rocky circular base, signed in bronze, “Ch. Ruchot,” raised on a green onyx stepped plinth centering a flower garland painted white enameled dial with Arabic number hour and quarter-hour marks, the clockworks marked with Japy Freres logo, “Made in France,” with numbers 90320 and 3-3, ending with gilt ormolu feet, together with figures attributed to Charles Ruchot, “Récolteuse de Cerises(Cherry Harvester),” and “Récolteuse de Fleurs(Blossom Harvester),” raised on matching green onyx stands; each figure verso a pastille “Fabrication Francaise, Made in France, Paris.” Height: 22 1/4″ Width: 13″ Depth: 7″ Provenance: Lifelong Collection of Clocks and Antiques, Navasota, Texas.
